euROBIN NEWSLETTER - From January to June 2026

A new euROBIN Newsletter is here! As every six months, we look back at the activities, achievements and milestones that have shaped the project during the first half of 2026.

Over the past months, the euROBIN community has continued working to strengthen Europe's robotics ecosystem through collaboration, scientific excellence, technology transfer and knowledge sharing. From international events and workshops to success stories, videos and strategic reflections on the future of robotics, this edition highlights some of the initiatives that have defined this period.

Join us as we revisit the first six months of 2026!

euROBIN OPEN CALLS

euRobotics Technology Transfer Award 2026

At the beginning of the year, we promoted the euRobotics Technology Transfer Award 2026, an initiative recognising outstanding collaborations between research and industry that successfully transform robotics research into real-world products and services.

The award continues to showcase the importance of technology transfer in Europe and highlights innovative solutions with tangible industrial impact.

SUCCESS STORIES

During the first half of 2026, we launched a new series of euROBIN Success Stories, showcasing projects supported through the euROBIN Support Programme and highlighting their achievements, collaborations and impact on the European robotics ecosystem.

Among the projects featured so far are VolPIx, COCOHRIW, SATORI and euRoboGym, covering topics ranging from computer vision and human-robot interaction to embodied AI and reinforcement learning.

These stories offer a closer look at how euROBIN support has helped transform innovative ideas into tangible results. And this is only the beginning: more success stories will continue to be published in the coming months.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AGENDA AND EUROCORE

Throughout the first half of 2026, we continued promoting two of the key outcomes of the euROBIN project: the Scientific Research Agenda (SRA) and EuroCore.

The SRA brings together the expertise of leading robotics researchers from across Europe to identify the challenges and opportunities that will shape the future of robotics. EuroCore continues to serve as a platform for sharing software, datasets, tools and knowledge across the European robotics community, helping accelerate innovation and collaboration.

BRUNO SICILIANO ON THE FUTURE OF ROBOTICS

One of the most popular publications of the semester was the article featuring renowned roboticist Bruno Siciliano.

In the interview, Siciliano reflects on the future of robotics and artificial intelligence, Europe's role in the global technological landscape, and the importance of initiatives such as euROBIN. Among the many memorable statements shared in the article, one stands out:

"Robotics is not an embellishment of AI. It is its real test."

EVENTS

European Robotics Forum 2026

From 23 to 27 March, the European Robotics Forum 2026 took place in Stavanger, Norway, bringing together more than 1,000 participants from academia, industry and the public sector.

As Europe's leading robotics event, ERF once again provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, discover new technologies and strengthen collaboration across the robotics ecosystem.

2nd WP3 Online Hackathon

The euROBIN community also came together for the 2nd WP3 Online Hackathon, featuring presentations and demonstrations of robotic platforms from USE, ETH and IIT.

The event fostered discussion and collaboration between work packages while exploring future integrations within EuroCore and other shared developments.

VIDEOS

International Women's Day

To celebrate International Women's Day, our partners at Inria and Centre Inria de l'Université de Lorraine produced a special video featuring women working within the euROBIN project.

The video highlights the researchers, engineers and innovators contributing every day to the advancement of robotics and artificial intelligence in Europe.
